A crunchy, meaty, cheesy mountain of Tex-Mex goodness served over Doritos. Yes, Doritos.
- Cook the Meat
Brown the ground hamburger meat and season to taste. Drain excess grease.
- Prep the Beans
Drain and rinse the kidney beans.
- Combine the Salad
In a large bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, shredded cheese, and cooked meat.
- Dress It Up
Add 1 1/2 bottles of Ortega taco sauce and 1/3 bottle of Italian dressing. Mix well. Add more if desired.
- Serve
Place Doritos in the bottom of each bowl and top with the taco salad mixture.
- Try it without extra toppings first - it's perfect as-is.
- Optional: Add sour cream, guacamole, or jalapeños.
- The Doritos get soggy fast, so add them right before eating.
