- Brown the Sausage
In a large pot, brown the Italian sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it into crumbles.
- Add Liquids & Vegetables
Add onion, potato, half and half, chicken broth, milk, and seasonings (oregano, crushed red pepper, black pepper).
- Simmer
Simmer until potatoes are soft and tender.
- Add Kale
Add the kale leaves. Cover for 15 minutes until kale is wilted and tender.
- Serve
Ladle into bowls and serve hot.
- Remove kale stems for best texture.
- Use hot Italian sausage for extra kick.
- Leftovers reheat well - add a splash of broth if too thick.
